Hannah Bowen – Senior Health & Wellbeing Instructor
With over 20 years of experience as a Fitness Professional, I’ve dedicated my career to helping people move better, feel stronger, and live fuller lives—regardless of age or ability. Over the past decade, my work has focused on clinical exercise and rehabilitation, including Exercise Referral (NERS), cancer pre/rehabilitation, and leading Phase IV group projects in cardiac rehabilitation and falls prevention.
In 2023, I was honoured to be appointed as a Senior Health & Wellbeing Instructor in Sandville Self Help Foundation, a key role supporting specialised exercise programs—recognition of my long-standing commitment to inclusive, community-based health and fitness.
My qualifications reflect a broad and in-depth understanding of movement for health. I’m a certified Exercise Specialist Instructor with additional expertise in falls prevention, cardiac rehabilitation (BACPR), exercise following stroke, and Parkinson’s disease (PD Warrior Level 2). My training also includes Tai Chi movement, Qi Gong, Pilates, physical yoga, personal training, gym instruction, water fitness, and Nordic walking, among other specialist modalities. This diverse background allows me to offer personalised, adaptable exercise programs that meet people where they are—regardless of age, diagnosis, or ability.
I have a particular interest in supporting people living with Parkinson’s disease and those navigating rehabilitation and recovery. I’m passionate about the power of Tai Chi and Qi Gong for building calm, focus, and balance. Most of all, I believe in using movement to restore confidence, independence, and joy in everyday life.
Over the last 20 years, I’ve run group exercise sessions rooted in functional fitness, always aiming to create an inclusive and supportive environment. I work especially with those who may feel that fitness “isn’t for them,” and I take pride in helping people discover that it is—for everyone. My mission is to help people age well, maintain their independence, and continue enjoying the things that matter most to them, whether that’s staying active, connecting with others, or simply living life on their own terms.
