Irene Keane – Centre Assistant
I have been a dedicated volunteer with Sandville Self Help Foundation since 1987. From attending weekly meetings in Court Coleman, my role as a volunteer began with driving clients to and from the centre and driving patients to and from Velindre. I assisted with the move to the new facility, Sandville Court in 1990. My commitment never wavered with my volunteer role increasing to also include attending as a night carer once a week—offering comfort, safety, and a listening ear. In 2018, I was appointed as Sandville Self Help Foundation Centre Assistant, working in the ‘Friends of Sandville’ charity shop and volunteering on other days. With a lifetime of service and a deep passion for the charity’s mission, my commitment for the charity is stronger than ever and I feel a valued part of the team of staff and volunteers.
