Max Lynn - Health & Wellbeing Instructor
In October 2023, I first joined the Sandville Self Help Foundation as a Volunteer looking to gain work experience through helping in the various sectors of the organisation such as the therapy centre and charity shop. Over time, my main interest became the therapy centre where I assisted the Health & Wellbeing staff with the various classes that took place across the Mobility Suite, Wellbeing Studio and Hydrotherapy Pool. I became more passionate and capable at managing classes overtime with the help and support of the staff. After gaining my Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instructing, I was offered the rare and extraordinary opportunity to join the Health & Wellbeing staff team which has greatly expanded my role in contributing to the delivering of services in the therapy centre.
As a Health & Wellbeing Instructor, I assist in the delivery of classes every week to groups of clients with life limiting and life changing conditions, classes include seated and standing with the aim of improving clients mobility, activities in daily living and to promote independence. I also work one to one with certain clients who may have their own unique personal goals they want to achieve.
Coming from the position I was in before I joined Sandville Self Help Foundation, I feel privileged to be building a career that delivers a really positive and long-lasting impact on many people’s lives.
